Who We Are

Utah Emergency Physicians and its predecessor groups have served patients on the Wasatch Front for over 30 years. We have expanded our reach over time, adding sites in alignment with the growth of Intermountain Health. Currently, we serve 8 facilities and are actively planning to add another soon.

Our group is comprised of dedicated employee-owners. We are a fully democratic group and the large majority of our physicians build their entire careers with UEP. We are actively engaged in our practice, contributing to clinical improvements, committees, governance, and wellness initiatives. Our group's success is rooted in our commitment to nurturing and developing our practice.

As employee-owners, we believe in the responsibility of being stewards of our business. Our focus is on continuous improvement of clinical care and ensuring the sustainability of our practice for future generations of physicians. We prioritize building a thriving, long-term enterprise, rather than focusing on short-term gains. Welcome to Utah Emergency Physicians (UEP)! We're glad you're considering our group. We take a family approach, balancing work and home life for a fulfilling, long-term career.

We aim to make your Emergency Department shifts stimulating and rewarding. While we value efficiency, we also prioritize meaningful patient conversations and strong connections with staff and colleagues for a fulfilling career in emergency medicine.

Joining UEP offers three unmatched assets:

• Location: The Intermountain West provides amazing year-round outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, sailing, river rafting, skiing, and snowboarding. You also have access to Utah's "Mighty 5" National Parks. Our facilities are also close to Salt Lake International Airport for easy global travel.
• Partnership with Intermountain: UEP is a physician-owned democratic group with a 40-year contract with Intermountain Health, covering eight emergency departments and their Tele Emergency Medicine program. Intermountain trusts and supports us, and we are integral to their patient-centric mission.
• Our People: Our greatest asset. UEP is owned by over 100 physician partners, with 20 physicians on a partnership track, and 20 valued PAs and NPs. Our lean administrative staff works closely with us. We support each other through challenges and celebrate achievements, truly considering each other family. You'll work with trusted colleagues and find friends off-shift.

Our Clinical Practice

• Care for over 270,000 patients annually across eight hospitals
• Work in a variety of hospital setting, from quaternary and tertiary referral centers to smaller community hospitals as well as rural facilities
